Here’s a little background information so you can get a feel for who I am, what I’m about, and ultimately, why I’m the guy that’s going to help change your life.
First, let’s rewind a little…
Growing up, I always had a strong passion for fitness and was forever out playing and getting stuck into different sports and activities. That continued throughout my teens until I decided that alongside my love for health and fitness, I also loved working with, and helping people.
So hey presto, there was my motivation to go to college and become a Personal Trainer.
I spent 5 amazing years working for and learning from David Lloyd, this set me up fantastically, but I wanted more.
In June 2013 I left DL and became a freelance PT, for the next 3-4 years, I’ll be honest with you, I messed around. I stopped going to training events, stopped doing courses, I was a typical arrogant PT that thought I knew it all!
In late 2017, I had a realisation that unless I turned things around I’d never get anywhere. So after reinvesting in both myself and my business, I enrolled on multiple courses and academies, went to as many training days and seminars as I could, and would you believe it, things started to improve.
And that’s when James Heybourn Fitness really started.
Early 2019 I moved from a small private facility to a large commercial gym, and it was certainly a great move.
I was still self employed, I just rented out the space from The Gym, and as long as the client’s I trained were members of The Gym, it was all good.
However, at the end of Lockdown (July 2020) I made the decision to leave in person coaching and go fully online! Meaning that I can (and do) work with ladies all over the world! It was a big decision but one I feel confident was the right one. I know how well I can support my clients, motivate and inspire them, and of course educate and hold them accountable, all without the need to see them on an in person basis.
