ICOM Acupuncture College
We are a world-renowned acupuncture training college, founded by Dr Van Buren in 1972. With roots standing firmly in the classical tradition, ICOM educates and inspires students to be committed seekers of ever-deepening understanding.
ICOM is internationally renowned for its philosophical and practical application of the Stems and Branches theory which is taught alongside Five Elements theory and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The Stems and Branches theory allows students to go into much greater depth and breadth than that given by conventional acupuncture approaches and is unique to ICOM.
Students can study full time over three years or part time over four or five years. Attendance for full time is mostly two days a week, occasionally three days. Part time students attend one or two days a week. Attend one of our course introduction days to find out more. https://orientalmed.ac.uk/college/open-days/

Acupuncture is one of the oldest and safest medical systems used all over the world to restore, promote and maintain health.
It is used both as a stand-alone therapy or in combination with other forms of medicine to help treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Acupuncture can help with specific health conditions, such as pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee. It can also be used to help with more general symptoms, such as nausea. Treatment can also be used as a preventative measure to help maintain good health or to improve well-being.
